Cédric van de Vondel said, "Winning this award for my thesis on numerical modeling of water mist is a tremendous honor. I’m grateful to my supervisor, Prof. Dr. Tarek Beji, and the IMFSE institute for their invaluable knowledge and support."

He adds, "I am excited to share my research and its potential impact on the water mist field."

Ragnar Wighus Award

The sponsor of the award is the International Water Mist Association (IWMA). In 2023, the award was renamed 'Ragnar Wighus Award' in memory of the former and late president.

Before that, the prize was called the 'IWMA Young Talent Award'. In 2016, IWMA bestowed the prize for the first time. The committee that evaluates the submissions is the IWMA Scientific Council under the chairmanship of Max Lakkonen (IFAB). In 2025, the Ragnar Wighus Award will go to the author of the best Ph.D. thesis.
