The WAGNER Group GmbH is expanding in Scandinavia and has acquired the majority of the Norwegian company Hypoxic Technologies AS, based in Verdal near Trondheim, effective May 15, 2017.

Like the WAGNER Group, the company specializes in active fire prevention using oxygen reduction. Hypoxic Technologies will distribute WAGNER's OxyReduct® technology in the Scandinavian market in the future.

Cooperation offers many advantages

Hypoxic Technologies AS will continue LowOx sales and expand the local product portfolio to fit the range of systems

"In Hypoxic Technologies, we have found a professional and strategic partner who knows the Norwegian market needs precisely and has been networked for many years," says Andreas Schober, the new CEO of Hypoxic Technologies and Head of Operations Europe at the WAGNER Group.

"We are providing 360° support that includes our know-how as a technology leader and our international expertise in the planning, design, commissioning, and maintenance of fire prevention systems." Hypoxic Technologies AS will continue LowOx sales and, together with WAGNER, will gradually expand the local product portfolio to include the entire range of systems in fire prevention.

Range with the WAGNER spectrum

The further expansion also includes an expansion of the product range to include systems for fire detection and fire fighting. This will gradually align the product range with the WAGNER spectrum in the area of preventive, system-based fire protection in order to be able to offer tailor-made complete solutions for the Scandinavian market.

The WAGNER Group, together with its two co-owners Eivind Elnan and Jon Olav Vikan, will drive further expansion and gradually expand its portfolio of technical fire protection solutions,” says Andreas Schober.

Shaping the fire protection of the future with joint projects

"We have chosen WAGNER as our new main shareholder in order to be able to offer our customers needs-based and future-oriented fire protection solutions," says Eivind Elnan, one of the company founders and shareholders of Hypoxic Technologies together with Jon Olav Vikan, explaining the sale of 65 percent of the shares to WAGNER.

"The international orientation, decades of experience in plant engineering and our own research and development department form the basis of the expert knowledge of WAGNER engineers, which we can draw on and benefit from in our further expansion."

OxyReduct® series

OxyReduct ® series includes compact membrane systems with low outputs for computer rooms or archives

Hypoxic is receiving extensive local support from WAGNER headquarters and the engineers in the International Plant Engineering department. The first joint fire prevention systems from WAGNER and Hypoxic Technologies have already been put into operation, for example at the University of Oslo. Another project to protect the National Museum of Norway, Oslo, is currently being implemented.

WAGNER has been developing, planning, and implementing oxygen reduction systems since 1998 and has continuously developed and expanded its product portfolio. The OxyReduct ® series includes compact membrane systems with low outputs for computer rooms or archives, scalable PSA systems for large room volumes and energy-saving VPSA systems.

fire-retardant protective atmosphere

The British Library, Preferred Freezer, noris network, 1&1, the German Natural History Museum and LaLorraine are just a few of the well-known customers who trust OxyReduct® from WAGNER.

The principle of the oxygen-reduced atmosphere for active fire prevention is increasingly in demand internationally from large logistics companies, data centers with the highest security levels and libraries and museums with valuable cultural assets. Using the fire-retardant protective atmosphere, OxyReduct® not only reduces the risk of fire right from the start, but also prevents damage from extinguishing agents, smoke development, and subsequent operational downtime.
